Too bad the previous commentors don't understand what Jimmy Buffett is and stands for. As for his songs, I love that he does mostly ballads and just fun stuff. His style that fans love is that he is laid back and care free. He obviously enjoys life, people, and places. And as for his loyal Parrot Heads Clubs, he asks that we all do community projects as well as partying. The C-ville chapter had 2 great parties at Cheesebergers, pre-concert, and raised over $2,000 in rafftles, to benefit the Alzcheimer's Foundation. Jimmy's mother had the disease and it is one of his favorite charities. We "Party with a Purpose" and have great times!
(PS Jimmy is only 62 and is also an author of 3 books.)

There may be other music venues, but this is the best, for the type of music they're showcasing--hope it succeeds. Folk music needs a more intimate setting and this is it. Thanks for making this happen.

Damn, Is Jimmy Buffet still alive? If the description of the parking lot scene is accurate, those shows must have been total dork-fests. I always thought his fans were the guys that applied to be deadheads, but couldn't get in. Seems like I was right.

Really Hook? Is this a review? Is this helpful in any way to anyone possibly considering checking out this show. I cant believe the publisher allowed this crap to be printed.
I am no fan of these aforementioned acts, however I do think this is a piss poor excuse for a review or an announcement.
How about a little bit for the local guys that have made it far bigger than writing concert reviews for a free local paper in a small town in VA.

jimmy's not so bad. i stopped listening to him sometime in the late-70's but enjoyed most of his last two cds. was surprised and pleased to hear jimmy doing songs by crowded house and gillian welch. a couple of stinkers too. he just doesn't seem to know the difference. but with jimmy, one mustn't throw out the baby with the (fire)water.

Jake Shimabukuro is sickly, wickedly, and madly talented. I wouldn't refer to him as a "new" sensation, though - perhaps for the reviewer, but Jake's been making noise for quite some time. First saw him (with Buffett, actually) in 2003 or so. He's been huger than huge in Hawaii for much longer.

I've been going to all their shows lately & they're getting more and more crazy and just such an unusual show, I thought everyone just stood still playing music these days but they get wild! The video should be of ~that~.
RS has a really cute guitar player plus he's really good (especially when he sits on Kevin to play)! Can't wait to see 'em again.

God bless you Johnny and god speed, we will all meet again.
