No rain, no rainbows Developers mingle beneath the Gleason On Thursday, July 23, the developers of The Gleason, the 120,000-square-foot, five-story mixed-use building going up beside the downtown ACAC, hosted a party on the roof of the ACAC building to highlight the construction progress. Not counting the new National Ground Intelligence Center and a few behemoths at UVA, it's going to be the biggest building ever constructed in Charlottesville. It also appears to be defying both the economic crisis and the real estate downturn. Ground was broken last September, and although it's not scheduled for completion until this winter, nearly half of its 38 condo units have been sold at prices ranging from $339,000 to $1.2 million.
