City to open farmer’s market in Meade Park

by Dave McNair

According to Charlottesville City Market manager Stephanie Anderegg-Maloy, the City Market will add another location this spring. Dubbed “Farmer’s in the Park”, area produce vendors will gather at Meade Park every Wednesday starting May 30 from 3pm to 7pm. The market will continue until September 26.

As fresh herb, baked goods, and grass feed meat lovers know, the City Market is held every Saturday in the parking lot between Water & South Streets from 7am to Noon from April to October. With possible development of the Water Street parking lots on the horizon, the City appears to be making contigency plans for the popular market.

For more information about “Farmer in the Park” you can call or e-mail Ms. Anderegg-Maloy at maloy@charlottesville.org and 970-3371.
