Snap o’ the Day: Aviator in autumn
published 1:48pm Tuesday Nov 4, 2008
The statue for perished aviator James McConnell gleams in the autumn sun last Thursday, October 30, as the Lewis Mountain mansion does likewise behind it. The bronze figure was sculpted by Gutzon Borglum, the man who carved Mt. Rushmore.

That very statue is one of the best in this city. It shows how good an artist imagination can be when inspired by the accomplishments of his fellow man/woman.
