Remnants of near-Hurricane Fay have rescued farmers, parched lawn-owners, and the 4-feet-low Rivanna Reservoir. Call it the “media rain dance,” if you will, as the storm— which the National Weather Service estimates has already dumped over an inch and a half at the airport— follows numerous news accounts of how this month was heading toward becoming the driest August on record. The Service is calling for a “near 100 percent” chance of more rain today.
