As speculation over whom Democratic presidential nominee Sen. Barack Obama will choose to be his running mate continues, a recent survey suggests he may want to look to Virginia, and in particular to his senate colleague Jim Webb. According to a June 20-22 poll from WJLA-TV in Washington and WDBJ-TV in Roanoke, Webb in the VP slot breaks the statistical tie among Virginians between Obama and his Republican opponent, Sen. John McCain. Should Obama win the Old Dominion’s 13 electoral votes in November, it would be the first time a Democrat has done so since Lyndon Johnson in 1964.
