Yankees play Hokies in baseball exhibition

As the team promised at the time of the April 16 shootings on the Virginia Tech campus, the New York Yankees will take on the Hokies baseball team on their home field in Blacksburg today at 3pm. Yesterday, Yankees players and coaches spent time with local fans and visiting the university’s memorial to the 32 students and faculty lost nearly a year ago. The Yankees have also donated $1 million to the Hokie Spirit Memorial Fund.
