Less than a year after a Roanoke Times photographer made Kevin Sterne’s wounded body the iconic image of the April 16, 2007 shootings at Virginia Tech, the recent graduate will sit in the balcony at President Bush’s State of the Union address tonight as a guest of First Lady Laura Bush, according to the Richmond Times-Dispatch. Sterne was shot twice in the leg while barricading the door of a classroom in Norris Hall.
