‘Little Eichmanns’ quotester to speak

One of America’s more polarizing figures, the man who defended the 9/11 terrorists while claiming that the victims were agents of their own destruction, or “little Eichmanns” as he so famously put it, Ward Churchill, is scheduled to speak in Charlottesville this Friday.

His talk happens at 9pm in conjunction with what’s been billed as the East Coast premiere of a new documentary, The Canary Effect, on the destruction of Native American communities in America.

Churchill came under fire in 2005 with his academic paper turned speech, “Some People Push Back: On the Justice of Roosting Chickens” in which he compared those who died in the Twin Tours to the mastermind of the Nazi Holocaust. He eventually lost his tenured professorship at the University of Colorado at Boulder– but not for the firestorm of criticism that followed. In an 8-1 vote in July of this year, he was found to have engaged in research misconduct including plagiarism, fabrication, and falsification.

Nonetheless, Churchill has gained the support of many groups, including the non-profit lecture bureau Speak Out, which assists Churchill in touring the country to explain what he sees as another genocide: America’s treatment of Native Americans.

What a loser…coming to Charlottesville no doubt to meet other losers like himself. And probably to try to find a job in a town that supports losers like him.

The writer of this article obviously didn’t read Churchill’s essay. If they had, then they would know it wasn’t a defense of the 9/11 perpertrators. It was an explanation of why, in churchill’s opinion they attacked the World Trade center.

Try reading the essay sometime Ms. Miller!

So this summer we have had a terrorist invited to speak (Mohammad Khatami), an anti-war loser who loves our enemies (Sheehan), and now a dispicable fake Indian who hates America coming to town.

    What happened to Charlottesville?

“I’m not a terrorist and I’m not a seditionist – I’ll leave that to Thomas Jefferson and the other founding fathers, okay? (room laughter) All of whom would be sitting in Guantanamo Bay if they were running around now doing what they did then.”

    Ward Churchill
    October 20, 2005

“As to those in the World Trade Center . . . Well, really. Let’s get a grip here, shall we? True enough, they were civilians of a sort. But innocent? Gimme a break.”

    Ward Churchill’s 9-11 essay

    MAX…do you support this guy?

  • What He Said! Professor Ward Churchill, Adolf Eichmann, Hannah Arendt, And The Roosting Chickens Of Genocide

“Hannah Arendt, a reporter whose coverage of the trial formed the basis for her book, Eichmann in Jerusalem, turned the case study into a landmark thesis of political philosophy and mass psychology. Throughout the book, she treated Eichmann as the embodiment of individual culpability for the atrocities of a totalitarian regime.

She pointed out that Eichmann was not an ideological anti-Semite; he was simply trying to out-perform rivals and advance his career. Arendt noted that he was not psychopathic, psychologically damaged, or distorted by hatred. She coined the term “the banality of evil” to describe the way in which people who abdicate their own moral responsibility can become desensitized to the immoral duties they perform as a matter of daily life.

Eichmann had surrendered his moral autonomy by refusing to judge the laws or actions of the state he served, and so had the millions of other Germans who abetted the Nazi regime in general and the Holocaust in particular.”

This loser is a drama queen looking for lemmings to buy into his bullshit.I suppose there are enough spoiled liberals at UVA to give him an audience. Y.

  • jeeps October 2nd, 2007 | 10:20 pm

You’re damned right CA. There are enough idiots here to give him not only an audience but also a voice and probably a job.

Charlottesville is heading down the crapper quicker than most people realize. Most democrats here are actually communists in disguise.

  • Jim October 2nd, 2007 | 10:34 pm

I hope there are more people protesting than there to see him, but it probably won’t happen. After all, the people who realize how dangerous people like Churchill are have jobs.

I fully support this man’s ability to come to Charlottesville and speak. I believe free speech is inviolable, and that every citizen has the right to open his mouth and prove exactly how stupid he is. If this guy finds fellowship and comfort here, and draws adherents to his point of view, more power to him. It is always comforting to me when the unthinking sheep types flock together - it makes them easier to avoid…
