Julie Mayo and Jude SilveriaCharlottesville and Richmond artists have a history of collaboration. Every week, scores of performers and fine artists travel the ribbon of I-64 between the two cities. Last Saturday, March 16, was no exception. Thadd McQuade of Charlottesville's Foolery joined Richmond's Ground Zero Dance Company in their production, "Court." Ground Zero has been seen often in Charlottesville, and its members have contributed to many other Charlottesville projects. The renovated Tredegar Iron Works Gun Foundry Building in Richmond was a stately stage for Pam England's modern dance choreography. Echoing courtly dancing, she explored the tension between religious devotion and the corruption of rituals. After striking the set, the cast and friends celebrated with a cast party.
