Hazing Kaine: Lt. Guv rips Assembly

Local Dems say it's pure coincidence that both Governor Mark Warner and Lt. Governor and 2005 gubernatorial candidate Tim Kaine (pictured here) showed up in Charlottesville March 31. Warner held a town meeting at the Nook. Kaine came by that afternoon to bless the new Main street Democratic headquarters and the three Dem City Council candidates: David Brown, Kendra Hamilton, and Kevin Lynch. Both Warner and Kaine castigated the Republican-majority General Assembly that has yet to pass a budget. Kaine, on his way to the Miller Center, says people there "asked me months ago to talk about the General Assembly wrap-up. I changed the speech to 'The 10 Stages of Budget Disaster.'"– Lisa Provence
