One bushel of apples (40 pounds) yields about three and a half gallons of cider.
Cider has a refrigerated shelf life of two to three weeks at 32-36 degrees F.
Apple cider is a high in pectin and potassium– and has zero fat.
Fresh cider is made with a blend of tart apple varieties.
Apple cider may be frozen for up to a year without loss of quality. (Because it expands, use plastic containers filled only three-fourths full.)
