Kluge should know better

Patricia Kluge can talk all she wants about her environmentally friendly development [Letter, "Condon doesn't know Kluge," July 10] (http://www.readthehook.com/93705/letter-condon-doesnt-know-kluge), but the fact remains that she will be destroying the natural habitat of the creatures who live there now. The development will bring in more people creating the need for more services and roads and causing more noise and pollution. This is not a good thing.

Kluge seems to be saying that she must develop her land in order for it to be valuable and to serve a purpose. This is a fallacy. Albemarle County is being developed to death.

The most valuable thing she could do is to leave her land in its natural state, a certain amount of which is essential to provide a healthy ecosystem for us all. I, as a farmer and environmentalist, know this. She should too.
