A little padding and pantyhose, and Ryan Colby is transformed
Sabrina B. and Ryan Colby flank a statuesque mystery vixen in the dressing roomThey're a special breed of beauty queens, to be sure. At a recent AIDS benefit show, a dozen local drag artists came out to strut their stuff for a good cause. The Sunday, June 1, event included a silent auction to raise money for AIDS support, as well as a performance by comedian and AIDS survivor Steven Moore.
But the stars of the show at Club 216 were the "ladies." Fake hair, fake nails, some padding here and there... top it off with some major flair and a talent for keeping crowds happy, and you've got yourself a drag show to write home about.
"All through my younger years, I was on stage," says D. D. Damiano, one of the more fetching performers of the evening. "I just love entertaining people."
