Rugby ousting: Eviction among the rich and famous
A locksmith readies his tools at the Rugby Road home of legendary writer William Faulkner which became an eviction scene of legendary proportions on Thursday, April 3. Locks were changed, and the house at 917 Rugby Road was retaken by Gibson Management Group.
Managing the dwelling as a rental property for the out-of-town owners, Gibson recently won four civil judgments totaling over $24,000 against the ousted tenants, Jenny G. Morrell and William L. Morrell.
The rent was $3,400 per month. Is this the priciest eviction Gibson has handled?
"I've done bigger in California," replies company owner Wallace Gibson, who has hung out a new sign and hiked the rent to $3,600 per month.
