Cheri's not old

I liked your article about the problem of unshoveled walkways in Charlottesville [News, "Frozen law: Sidewalk scofflaws skate free," December 19, 2002] (http://www.readthehook.com/92874/newsshy-frozen-law-sidewalk-scofflaws-s...), and have wondered why the city is not coming down harder on the businesses that create big snow mounds on pedestrian paths.

But the format of the article implied that Cheri Lewis is one of the "little old ladies" shoveling snow.

As anyone who has met or done business with Cheri Lewis can attest, she is far from being a little old lady. She's an attractive, energetic powerhouse of a businesswoman, neither little nor old. I admit that wouldn't make the copy read quite as well.

Thanks as always for the entertaining and informative writing.
