I adopted my dog Oliver eight years ago from the Baltimore SPCA, and he's been my best friend ever since. Consequently, I can't help wondering about people who spend money to buy purebred dogs when there are perfectly wonderful dogs just waiting to be adopted from the pound.
This mutt show, held Sunday, October 20, at the Keswick Hunt Club, was a great opportunity to show that our "not so pure"-breds can sing, and jump, and basically outmaneuver canines with pedigreed bloodlines any day.
Don't get me wrong– purebreds are fine, too. Dogs are just great. Period. The "Magnificent Mutt Show" benefits the Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA.
