New owner of Kluge winery suffers political setback

Donald Trump, the man who would be president and the man who bought a foreclosed local winery, suffered a setback April 27, as the actual president unveiled his actual birth certificate, showing that– contrary to claims by Trump and other so-called "birthers"– that the U.S. President was born in the state of Hawaii and therefore eligible for the presidency. The Washington Post quotes Trump, busily making the rounds of New Hampshire where presidential campaigns often start, enthusing over his role in getting President Barrack Hussein Obama II's long-form birth certificate released.

Trump and other would-be contenders for the nation's top political job got a further spanking on May 1 when the chief executive successfully oversaw the slaying of international terrorist Osama bin Laden.

Can we now expect a "Celebrity Apprentice" recap every week now that Trump has C'ville ties?

Man, that Gary Busey was crazy!

Now that this mystery is solved it's on to the next one for Mr. Trump - wonder if he needs any more investigators ?

( from the Post )

"whether Obama — who graduated from Harvard Law School magna cum laude — deserved admission to Ivy League schools. Trump cited unspecified sources who claim that Obama had not been a good student.

One wonders if he is a double agent for the Democrats, the way this has all turned out. Now he'll try to ferret out the President's college grades and from there, who knows? Each new "revelation" can be TRUMPeted as a victory by this buffoon, and all the while voters get alienated towards the GOP.

What a bunch of fools to fall into this trap. When you start to treat crazy people like they are making sense, you get what you deserve when you look like a jacka$$.

"Trump's donation history shows Democratic favoritism"

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2011/04/27/politics/washingtonpost/main20...

Trump donated to Democrats because they controlled the permitting where he wanted to build.

Like it or not he got Obama to back down and do what her should have done 3 years ago.

Obama was the one causing the distraction. He spenf a half a million dollars fighting it which could have been donated to reverend Wrights Church.

"Obama was the one causing the distraction. He spenf a half a million dollars fighting it which could have been donated to reverend Wrights Church."

Do you just make this stuff up, or rely on FOX for you facts ? I can just imagine your reaction when we get the first Hispanic president

@bill. you can be quiet now. All finished.

"He spenf [sic] a half a million dollars fighting it which could have been donated to reverend [sic] Wrights [sic] Church."

I'd be interested to see the evidence supporting this error-filled assertion.

OK, so where is the Donald's long form birth certificate?

Trump made Obama blink. We are off and running to '12.

Trump and his family had a parking lot in Queens New York as he was growing up. It was at the end of the "F" train line. A member of my family said he would help his brother attend to the lot. Donald was young. From what I was told he would sit on a swivel stool and go around in circles. Going around in circles seems to be something he is use to. I still like the guy, but he is out of reach for the presidency.

I don't understand those who see this as a victory for Obama or a defeat for Trump. Obama was refusing to do something that was quite reasonable to be expected of him - as it would be reasonable to expect of any candidate for President. It is very puzzling as to why he refused to do so until it became a real political problem - even now the real, die-hard birthers will not be convinced - that document will be analyzed and discussed ad infinitum and ad nauseum on talk shows and internet blogs. Obama allowed the birth certificate issue to fester until it became a problem and one has to ask oneself - Why? I suspect that it reflects something not so flattering about his sense of entitlement and superiority.

Why didn't Obama release the birth certificate three years ago? Something still isn't right about all this. I wish Bill Clinton could run again.

The real setback for Trump today was that he's given more to Democratic candidates than anyone else. No one is buying that load of hooey. I wouldn't be surprised if this is something he and the Obama campaign orchestrated together.

If Donald Trump is taken seriously- it is a sad commentary for our country.

"For Trump, thinking less and less seems to be working more and more from week to week—"

There were numerous lawsuits filed around the country. The courts kept siding with the President. While I didn't care one way or the other.. (his mother from Kansas was good enough for me regardless) these lawsuits were not defended for free and I can imagine how it could easily consume a lot of money.

Regardless of where he was born he is in the White House now, and although he proved today that he is legally qualified for the job ,his intellectual qualifications have yet to be proven.

Obama *did* release his birth certificate during the campaign. The birthers sneered at it for some reason.

Nobody with a firm grasp on reality ever believed that Obama was born in kenya. There simply wasn't ever ANY evidence that he WAS born in Kenya. None.

The president released the same certificate of live birth that I've been using as my birth certificate my entire life.

So for these foolish people to now believe that the "issue" is that Obama didn't release his birth certificate, what they are really doing is refusing to face up to the fact that they've believed a completely fabricated LIE for all this time.

It's not that Obama waited to release his birth certificate, it's that Obama waited TO MAKE A COMPLETE FOOL OF YOU.

That is a fact that everyone now knows. Everyone looking at this issue knows that these fools have been exposed to be simpletons. They are the same ones that believed Saddam Hussein was behind 9/11 and had WMDs.

It is their capability of believing lies and their unwillingness to be honest with themselves about the lies that they've been led to believe that will compel them to continue to oppose President Obama. At least the rest of us can see so clearly that their motivation is not based in reality.

To meanwhile - are you saying that those that "continue to oppose President Obama" have motivation "not based in reality". I oppose Obama on policy - I never believed the birther argument but I must admit I found it humorous that Obama allowed it to go on so long - to become an issue. But on economic policy I foresee an approaching era of rapid inflation unknown in our lifetimes that will forever mark his presidency. I believe that 100 years from now - Obama will be remembered for two things - 1) For being the first non-white President (but certainly not last) and 2) Inflation. I'm very proud of my opposition to his Presidency and I resent your contention that my motivation must not be based in reality.

did he maybe not want to release it because it shows his mother's age as 18 and the father as 25? she could possibly have been pregnant at 17 by a 24 yr old man. just wondering????

People wanted his birth certificate because why? He fulfilled the requirement for anyone who ran for president, so why should he go beyond that? Because he's Black? Because he's African? All of you people who think he should have put the argument to rest are essentially saying that because he's black, he needed to produce more evidence of his place of birth beyond what any other president has done before him. Shut up and move on, you are admitting that you are a fool and giving all of us more reasons to disregard anything that the T-baggers or Birthers have to say. Seriously, this is what we should focus on in the country? Tighten up and put your minds to work on some serious issues people, or just go close yourself up in some dark hole and watch Fox news and leave the rest of us to work out the big problems we've got.

There will always be those that doubt his legitimacy. Good luck and get some help.

@ Mind Yo Business: I believe that people wanted to see his birth certificate for two reasons. First, there is the huge amount of money he has spent over the years trying to conceal everything in his past. Why would he do that if he didn't have something to hide? The other reason is the statement of his own grandmother that she attended his birth in Kenya.

That said, his place of birth is irrelevant to his eligibility to be President, because his mother was a natural-born US citizen.

@ I Wonder: The parents were married, so their respective ages -- whatever they were -- are also irrelevant.

Now... let's move on to something that really matters, like the debt.

"That said, his place of birth is irrelevant to his eligibility to be President, because his mother was a natural-born US citizen."

This is completely wrong. You are ignorant of the law.

"the huge amount of money he has spent over the years trying to conceal everything in his past."

Please support this statement with facts or admit that it is false.

To Mind Yo Business - the last thing I will ever do is leave it to the likes of someone like you to "work out the big issues" - I have children to whom I would like to leave behind one day a reasonably functioning democracy and economy.

Kittymom is a birther. And like all good birther's she will keep looking for anything she can find to avoid the reality that a non WASP was legally elected as the President of the US. Instead of paying attention to what has been really important, she spends her time looking for conspiracies that aren't there.

No doubt she is a big supporter of the party of No, who typically uses birthers like her to avoid getting anything productive done.

Kittymom is NOT a birther. Please reread my comment.

Lake Monticello Man,

"For being the first non-white President (but certainly not last) and 2) Inflation."

Really? Which inflation are you talking about? You mean the inflation driven by the spiking of oil futures. Like under Dubya? That inflation? Or the health care costs that the Party of No did absolutely nothing to stem when they controlled every part of the government? That inflation? Or maybe you are refeering to housing....woops, that's in deflation right now. Young folks can actually buy a house again. Didn't see that one under Bush. A real good housing bubble there. Or perhaps you are referring to the inflation that is a derived from Greenspan's easy money era, combined with Bush borrowing lots of money from China to fight two unpaid for and unnecessary wars. Are you referring to the debt and inflation that has to be dealt with there?

See, I worry now not just about my children, who are old enough to have paid quite a bit into SS and Medicare, and are being told they shouldn't get anything for it. But more so my grandchildren, who are growing up in a world where they are expected to live in a non-competitive fascist environment, where all risk is socialized, and all profits are privatized. They will have no playing field on which to play ball at all.

I am not 'opposed' to Obama, so much as disappointed in him for just doing exactly what the GOP has done for years, in corporate welfare, an unfair tax code, and denying the individuals the right to compete.

Kittymom,

Did you not say this?

"I believe that people wanted to see his birth certificate for two reasons. First, there is the huge amount of money he has spent over the years trying to conceal everything in his past. Why would he do that if he didn't have something to hide? The other reason is the statement of his own grandmother that she attended his birth in Kenya. "

Sources please.

That's the kind of thing the birthers love to use to hide their real issues.

"I'm very proud of my opposition to his Presidency and I resent your contention that my motivation must not be based in reality."

What exactly are you opposed to
A) financial reform
B) health care reform
C) trying to save the middle class
D) allowing gays their rights
E) holding corporations responsible for their actions
F) other

This non-issue does not matter. 2012 will be a landslide if oil stays high and the dollar stays weak.

Yeah, I think with 3 ongoing wars which we are not winning, Climate Change causing severe weather all over the states and 10 plus million people out of work that this issue is of primary importance, only overshadowed in status by the Royal Wedding - humans are beyong pathetic

Your list is so subjective - "trying to save the middle class" - well rising milk and gas prices will have more impact on the survival of the middle class than anything big government can do - we spent like a drunken sailor during his first two years of office and ran up deficits that we will never be able to repay so our currency is being devalued as we speak - look at commodities. And as far as getting people back to work when the EPA drops consideration of the impact on unemployment in developing their guidelines and regulations that proves that employment is a secondary consideration of this president - despite all his protestations and assertions to the contrary - hardly a middle class friendly position given the hardships faced by so many of our fellow citizens unable to find work. And the biggest problem with health care reform was that it was forced through at a very bad time for our economy - I don't think that the economy is strong enough to permit its implementation - the Obama Administration admits as much day after day as it continues to offer waivers for companies to delay implementation. Only thing that I can see from my perspective is that health care premiums rose this year at a much higher rate than before Obamacare. I just don't see a single thing that he has done that is actually working as advertised to improve the life of the average middle class family which I agree is an endangered species.

old timer and meanwhile: Who do you think paid to defend all the lawsuits requesting his birth certificates? Even if it was not his cash from his acount it was spent on his behalf by others. So because he chose to drag it out he wasted that money that he could use to win reelection, support Tim Kaine or have the DNC use to hire hookers for the convention. The amount can only be speculated, but we all know lawyers who got all the way to the appealate courts didn't do it for 25 bucks an hour.

The reason we are in this mess is because people in america want to be able to work 30 hours a week, live in a nice house with free healthcare and no worries, all with a high school education or a degree in liberal arts. Well life is showing you that that formula doesn't work.

If you cannot produce anything of value then you shouldn't receive anything in value in exchange. Unless your a Democrat.

For instance.. the people in Belmont bought houses and revamped the neighborhood, so now Charlottesville raises their property taxes accordingly and gives it to people on the other side of Avon in subsidies, allowing them to not work and be well rested enough to come to Belmont at night and sell drugs and steal car radios.

To Old Timer - Obama has been in office over 2 years now - the Democrats had overwhelming majorities in Congress for the years 2007 to 2010. I agree Bush sucked - I was a Clinton supporter during his Presidency - I agree that Bush weakened our economy during his tenure - what I do not agree with are those like you who seek to blame everything on Bush. Truman says the "Buck Stops Here" and the most annoying thing about Obama and his supporters are that they seem never to want to assume responsibility for the country - when do you believe that we should begin to hold Obama accountable? There is something going on today that is different from 2008 - not only has oil risen now but the other commodities have gone absolutely crazy. S&P is warning about our country's credit rating. These are new and they belong to Obama.

The Japanese estimate that the earthquake / tsunami will cost the country something in excess of $300 billion to repair - well our federal deficit this year will be 5 to 6 times greater than this. People have become desensitized to the scope of the problem - we will never be able to repay the deficits being developed now unless we burden our grandchildren and great grandchildren with taxes to repay debts that they will not benefit from - it is a huge theft across generations but it will not happen - we will repay the Chinese and our other debtors with grossly devalued dollars - only problem with this scenario is that it will wipe out the buying power of our lifetime savings and investments as it happens.

This is beginning to happen now - I think that Obama will be a moot issue by 2012 - the economy will likely be so horrendous that he will not be even remotely electable.

To Joe McCloskey,

You mentioned global warming and unemployment as two of your three major issues - how would you balance the two because the growth of the economy which will be the basis of re-employment of the mass unemployed and there is a trade-off to be made between the stringency of EPA regulations and economic growth. I personally think that a balance has to be reached but do you at least acknowledge that there is a tension and stress between the two goals: environmental protection and full employment? I have a problem with those that spout both of these issues together but who secretly would always place the environmental protection above employment. I have a problem with Obama for exactly this reason.

It strikes me that no one here has actually seen Bill Marshall’s or Lake Monticello Man’s long form birth certificates. Yet they parade their opinions on here as though they are ACTUAL United States citizens. Why should anyone believe them? For all we know, they are just a couple of Muslim “instigators.” (I bet they made crummy grades in school too.)

Somebody really ought to force these two to place all of their vital records on the internet for everyone to see. And if they attempt to retain a shred of their privacy, well that will just be proof that they have something to hide, now won't it?

"defend all the lawsuits requesting his birth certificates."

I recall lawsuits saying he wasn't the legitimate president and those were the ones defended. You can't go to court demanding to see someone's birth certificate, you have to have a cause of action.

Please cite the exact case your are referring to. Shouldn't be hard, the cases are all a matter of public record.

Again, please support your statements or admit that they are false.

To Joe McCarthy,

I'm not running for public office - certainly I'm not aspiring to be the President - by taking the step into the public arena one forfeits the right to the degree of privacy that a private citizen enjoys. As far as my long form birth certificate, it is filed in my personal records and over the years I have presented it for various reasons when required. It never seemed to be a huge issue for me - if I were a public figure there would certainly be no reason not to share it.

But Obama's birth certificate was never an issue for me - I just never understood why he refused to head off this issue before the birther movement found its legs. I may be missing something but I don't see what is so personal about a birth certificate. I read Obama's and I see nothing that one would find uncomfortable to reveal. Certainly nothing that reflected negatively upon him.

But you are an idiot - through and through - that is obvious without the need to reveal any document - public or private.

Lake Monticello Man, you appear to be completely missing the points already raised.

Point 1: Obama already released his birth certificate.
Point 2: Allowing the birther "Issue" to find its legs only rendered them even bigger fools once the long form certificate was released the other day.

But the larger point is that there is no reason why Obama, or anyone, should treat irrational demands as if they are rational. You appear to be saying that Obama, and the rest of us, should have treated these people like they weren't crazy or that THEY didn't have the onus of proof.

Let me ask you, was there EVER any evidence Obama was born in Kenya? Any evidence his mother traveled there? Any evidence she flew from Kenya back to the US?

Those are the questions that YOU should answer before you, or anyone, request that Obama prove anything. If you are saying Obama was born in Kenya, show us the evidence. To get Obama to try to prove a negative is to put him in an impossible situation and he simply refused to play the game, except to simply release the document at the time that it would have the most impact and thus render these birthers impotent, loony losers.

since the birthers refuse to link to the evidence to support the assertion that Obama spent millions to conceal his birth certificate, I will cite an article supporting my claim: that Obama defended against lawsuits seeking to invalidate the Presidential Election, which is a different thing altogether than seeking to conceal his birth certificate (which, by the way, he released yesterday...).

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barack_Obama_presidential_eligibility_litig...

Joseph Farah said via his World Net Daily publication that Obama has decided "to spend sums estimated in the hundreds of thousands of dollars to avoid releasing a state birth certificate that would put to rest all of the questions."[9] Farah's WorldNetDaily has since upped the claimed expenditure to $1.7 million, on the basis of the Obama presidential campaign paying out that much since the election to the law firm of Perkins Coie. However, as Mother Jones magazine has pointed out, the campaign has had to employ lawyers to wind down its post-election operations and meet campaign finance law requirements.[10] At least one attorney representing Obama in the litigation has stated that he is working without pay.[11] Other attorneys interviewed by Mother Jones have stated that the "birther" lawsuits have been so weak that they have been easily resolved with "extremely minimal" monetary costs.[10]

To meanwhile,

I remember when Christine O'Donnell made her ad that started with "I am not a witch". It was pointed out that any ad beginning like this had to be a loser.
I maintain that Obama has been hurt by the birther issue - those who love him are celebrating but I don't think a single middle of the road voter will be swayed by the production of the birth certificate at this time. He, Obama, gave the Birthers their credibility by not doing this before the bulk of Americans were even aware of the issue. It started to spill over to the mainstream body politic where I don't ever believe that a large percentage actually felt that Obama was born in Kenya but who wondered why he didn't solve the problem. I think that all of these people are still wondering "WHY?"

I don't think it is a winner to go on tv to prove that you are not a fraud. It should have never gotten to this point.

LMM,

"what I do not agree with are those like you who seek to blame everything on Bush."

Oh, I most certainly do not blame everything on Bush. And I agree that the Democrats had control for a few months of all branches of government. Unfortunately, they did not have such overwhelming control that they could not always roll over top of the Party of No, had they wanted to. Unfortunately for Democrats, they tend to want to put out a hand first, and they should have known the GOP would just bite it.

I too, have been deeply disappointed with what amounted to a continuation of the GWB policies and massive corporate subsidies.

I have been publicly critical of Obama, on this forum and elsewhere. What I won't tolerate is what I, a southern male WASP recognize as nothing more than cultural/racial rage from my fellow brethren that someone else might actually ascend to the White House that doesn't look like me. The right tends to be very short on female and minority leadership these days, and there is a real reason for that that has nothing to do with incompetence. Frankly, the left is shorter than it should be as well.

The whole birther noise has to do with those problems.

That's all.

Lake Monticello Man, birthers never had an credibility, hence none was given to them by Obama. Trump and the rest who had jumped on that bandwagon now look like complete fools. You might say Obama did that to them, but they made it inevitable themselves.

Having to "prove" anything to crazy people (birthers) is not something the POTUS has to do....end of discussion. I wish Obama hadn't even released it.

Having to "prove" anything to crazy people (birthers) is not something the POTUS has to do....end of discussion. I wish Obama hadn't even released it.

To get Obama to try to prove a negative is to put him in an impossible situation....

If it was "impossible" how did he get the certificate yesterday?

If he was in court defending his elgibility in multiple lawsuits.. and the issue was his place of birth and all of the lawsuits could have been avoided if simply provided the long form three years ago... then he spent money rather than release his birth certificate. At 2500 bucks an hour and at least 5 lawsuits at 50 hours per suit is 625k.

If you are unable to comprehend that, then perhaps you should apply to the White House to become his communications czar....

I think it's better to think about it like this: By producing the document, he actually gave the crazy birthers more credibility than they deserved. It's hard to be reasonable with unreasonable people, so in a way, his proof will mean nothing to them.

bill,

he did release his birth certificate and all of the lawsuits were dismissed. There was nothing to defend. You obviously didn't read the article I cited.

Everything I've said is backed up by stuff called "court documents", "public records", "birth certificates". Your assertions are backed up by chain emails and loony websites.

Time to fold up the tinfoil hat and go home, son. Obama schooled you and yours, just like he did in 2008 and will again in 2012. I can tell you're disappointed and that's why your spewing your zany comments, but part of growing up is learning how to deal with disappointment. Buck up, you'll be fine.

LMM: "I don't think it is a winner to go on tv to prove that you are not a fraud. It should have never gotten to this point."

Obama never was a fraud and no one seriously believe he was a fraud. He didn't prove that he wasn't a fraud as he didn't "PROVE" anything. All he did is release his long form birth certificate and then had a good laugh about it.

You can huff and puff and try to spin this as much as you want, but I think almost anyone would recognize that your reasoning is completely circular.

There's no point in discussing this further with you as you are either willfully refusing to employ logic and reason when posting your comments, or you are incapable of doing so.

Either way, I hope you enjoy your evening.

Best thing for Obama about the release of his birth certificate is that it has obviously heartened his base at a time he needs it. His performance on the economy is losing the great American political center and it must be discouraging even to his true believers.

@Lake Monticello Man: "But you are an idiot - through and through - that is obvious without the need to reveal any document - public or private."

Hmmm... let's take a minute to analyze this...

You are one who thinks the leader of the free world's already produced short form birth certificate (the SAME form that suffices for virtually everyone else) is not good enough.

You are the one who feels that the President of the United States should have acquiesced to the demands of the lunatic fringe and required the state of Hawaii to break its own policy of withholding long form birth certificates.

You are the one who earlier posited that Obama's refusal to address the birtherists (yeah, that's right - birthers are racists) demands reflected Obama's "sense of entitlement and superiority". (I would suggest that his refusal to address the issue stemmed from his belief that his legitimacy as President deserved no more scrutiny than that of the 43 Americans who preceded him in office. Call it stubbornness if you like. But if I were in his shoes, I would have done exactly the same thing. Difference is, since I'm a white guy it never would've been an issue.)

You, sir, are the idiot.

Well Joe, it is good to see someone so engaged. But if you were born in Alaska to a Russian father, for example, and you spent much of your formative years living and attending school in let's say South Africa - and let's say you were a very conservative Republican president - you must know that the left, maybe the far left I give you that, would be all over you for proof of your birth in the US. Furthermore if a liberal black Democrat from let's say Virginia with two American parents who grew up and was educated in the US was elected President, that individual would not have his birth questioned by anyone. People are sick of the racist accusations - I am not now or have ever been a birther but I thought and still think that Obama showed manifest bad judgment not to defuse this issue years ago, Those that are birthers might be racists but you don't know that to be the case - there are elements of Obama's background that are different from other politicians and these elements have absolutely nothing to do with the color of his skin.

I don't really give a rat's colon about if Obama was born in the US or not, he won the election fair and square, although it's pretty easy to see it's fake:

http://market-ticker.org/akcs-www?post=185094

I hope despite this that the "birther" issue is put to rest since it's a really dumb argument anyway considering the wide support Arnold would have had if he ran for president and now we can get to the matter of Obama throwing away $1.7 trillion a year for his union buddies and useless friends and bankrupting our country.

I still want Trump to prove his mother wasn't a sea lion. --go ahead and delete it again ombudsman because I'm saying it again and it's truly scandalous **gasp**

On a more serious not, can we just start referring to him as Captain Combover?

This morning the Royals truly exhibited how shameful the behavior of Trump and his followers is, and what a disservice they are doing to our country. I am ready for a constitutional monarchy if this is the path the United States is going down.

It's kind of funny that so many sheeple just immediately believe that because a birth certificate was unveiled it *must* automatically be legit. Cause the people in charge never lie, right? I mean, come on, right?

Sure, it could be real, but, it took the Obama camp how long to finally unearth this document? That alone should raise some serious red flags. Never mind the fact that people who know and understand document counterfeiting have already discovered anomalies. Never mind the fact that there are people out there who know that the social security number Obama's been using was the number assigned to a now deceased man from Connecticut. Whoops.

Google it. Don't believe everything your fallible, and undeserving "leaders" feed you. Don't behave as a gullible child trapped in the body of an adult. Question everything, and never stop doing so. There's a lot of "guard dog puppets" so to speak that are out there in the world ready to bark at you very loudly for merely questioning anything, rabidly defending the status quo, and you have to wonder about that too. Why do they care so much if somebody questions something and doesn't automatically believe what we're told? What's it to them, right? A little.....strange when you think about it. They seem a little too personally invested in defending those Powers That Be who could care less about them. It's because they're a bit like matrix agents if you will, guarding all the doors, and holding all the keys. "Don't wake up! There's nothing to see here folks, move it along!"

Oh, but there is quite a lot to see...........

As a PS....I'm actually not a "birther" believe it or not, and nor am I a Republican. I don't participate in politics. I'm just somebody on the outside looking in, with a curious mind who likes to learn about the world we live in and can see things from a more detached, non-biased viewpoint since I'm not invested in anything or anybody, any group or any side.

@boooo! - "Oh, but there is quite a lot to see..........." Agreed! and getting more entertaining by the moment!

I actually like Donald Trump and was invited to the auction when he bought the Kluge land. He keeps me amused and entertained. I know his father set him up in business and Bank of America kept him propped up when he filed bankrupcy to protect their loans. He has make a fortune using other people's money and for that he is very smart. He is successful but not without making mistakes along the way, but the banks kept him from failing to protect their assets. I think he should run for President and Halsey Minor should be his running mate. If elected I would suggest Patricia Kluge as Secretary of the Treasury. I for one am preordering champagne for the celebration.

For what's worth, there is the Jerome Corsi book release, 17 May 2011 that makes the case that Obama is not eligible to be President. The timing of the release of what looks to be a fake birth certificate suggests that Obama's advisors are moving to thwart the impact of Corsi's book -- which will still be of great interest.
For the case against believing Obama:

Why is the exposure of a birth certificte a "political setback"??

It si only reasonable that the POTUS, and those who would like to be the POTUS prove that they are indeed qualified for the position.

One of the qualifcations is to be a natural born citizen of teh US.

Why did Obama refuse to prove his qualifications when asked?

Heck, he didn't even have to pass a security check- and probably couldn't, wih the ties he has had in the past.

And why did not teh POTUS answer Queen Oprah's question- "Why did you wait so long to show us us?"

Probably Bush's fault anyway..............

HarryD, the main "qualification" to be President is to receive votes for that office. Seeing as Obama has received more votes than any Presidential candidate ever, the obvious conclusion is that he is the most qualified person to be President of the United States ever.

I'm sure your respect for the country and the office would compel you to wish him nothing but success in his endeavors.

Gee HarryD, and perhaps you can tell us on what dates, Reagan, Clinton, Bush Snr and Bush Jnr, McCain, Carter, Johnson, Kennedy showed their birth certificates to the general public.

You know, in a wide media way, to verify their right to be President. Did they show the LONG form Birth certificate?

When are those dates? Bet you won't find them.

Because they didn't. They were expected to.

They weren't black with a name like Hussein.

Now these people will be wanting to see Bin Laden's death certificate....

Mr. Trump doesn't look like he is enjoying his dinner - you be the judge.

This thread sure has dried up! All this "controversy" about the birth certificate looks pretty darn stupid now, doesn't it?

Good luck in 2016, GOP!

What does any of this have to do with the winery? Absolutely nothing.

Major setback for winery owner as the POTUS takes credit for a successful military operation. Whoop-dee-doo
