MY RIDE- Margot Morshuis: 1989 Volvo 740 sedan
Safety was a priority for Margot Morshuis, who bought her Volvo in the fall of 2005. Although the car was already 16 years old, it had just 65,000 miles on it.
"She didn't drive much," smiles Morshuis, grateful to have found a car from a single owner. "We knew it was totally reliable."
In 1989, the car cost a whopping $28,000, so Morshuis says she felt quite comfortable shelling out $2,000. And she's had no regrets. "It's fantastic. Such a safe care, and because it's so heavy, it's a nice ride."
The one thing she doesn't care for: "It guzzles gas like a maniac."
