Fred Frith and Evelyn Glennie
These two artists are visiting the UVA music department as part of a week-long residency sponsored by the UVA Arts Board. Frith is an experimental and improvisational guitarist currently teaching composition at the Mills College in California, and Glennie is a partially deaf percussionist – and yet somehow still reportedly the first full-time percussion soloist in modern history.
