UVA mag boosts circ, changes name
UVA's main alumni publication, formerly University of Virginia Alumni News with a circulation of about 60,000 is now the University of Virginia Magazine with a circulation of over 200,000. The UVA news office says the magazine will now be mailed not just to certain alums but to all living alumni, plus faculty, current students, and their parents. An FAQ section at the magazine's upgraded website indicates that University "friends" also receive the magazine.
The magazine is published quarterly by the UVA Alumni Association and while it is said to be editorially independent from the University, a note from editor Robert Viccellio mentions that the circulation boost resulted from "increased financial support from the University."
The current issue includes a trove of remarkable photos by celebrated photojournalist Ed Roseberry.
