Weed claims Dem nomination

The Democratic convention to elect a challenger to Republican Virgil Goode isn't until May 20 in Buckingham, but Al Weed is already saying his nomination is a done deal. After an April 29 caucus, Weed's staking out 54% of committed delegates to Bern Ewert's 28%.Despite Weed's sizable lead, last week Ewert predicted the undecideds and secret first ballot would be where the Dems would confirm that he was the only candidate who could defeat Goode.

It's like Yogi Bear always said, "It ain't over till it's over." Or was it: "It ain't over until the fat elector sings."
