Goode meets Muslim congressman

For the last two weeks, the names of Rep. Virgil Goode (R-VA) and the nation's first Muslim congressman Keith Ellison (D-MN) have been linked in the national discourse. Controversy and even graffiti branding Goode a bigot have swirled ever since the public learned that Goode denounced Ellison's decision to use the Koran for his swearing-in ceremony. Now, the two finally have finally met.

During an interview with UVA prof and political pundit Larry Sabato, MSNBC cameras spotted the two just after today's swearing in of the 110th Congress. Ellison approached Goode, shook his hand, and shared a brief exchange.

"I congratulated Mr. Ellison on his election victory," Goode has said in a statement. "I look forward to working with all of the new members of the House of Representatives."

Asked about what was said between the two, Ellison spokesperson Chris Kirwin said, "We're still trying to figure that out ourselves, but it seemed like a very amiable exchange."

Video of the encounter has been posted on YouTube.

-It doesn't surprise me that Ellison isn't sure what Virgil said. Having heard him speak numerous times, I'm convinced he has some other native tongue. He barely speakes English, and nobody else I know from Southside has that bizarre accent.

Jermaine has caused national controversy by openly praying his obligatory five time prayers live on national TV. However Channel Four the Broadcaster has censored any footage of the Former Jackson Five practicing his faith. Outraged muslims have begun to complain on grounds of fair representation as Shilpa Shetty was broadcast practicing Yoga, they are demanding an explanation from Channel four as to why Jermaine Praying has been censored. Complaints to Ofcom the body that adjudicates media complaints are set to flood in this monday. Jermaine has begun to attract many thousands of muslim votes.
