Get ready to Rummage– all year!

For more than 50 years, the Rummage Sale has been the signature fundraiser for the Charlottesville Albemarle SPCA, helping haul in more than a quarter million dollars annually. It's about to get even bigger. On July 13, the Rummage Sale will open in a new location at 943 Preston Avenue next to Martin Hardware– but instead of lasting just a week or 10 days, as it has in the past, the sale will stay open indefinitely as the SPCA Rummage Store.

As at past events, the store's opening kicks off with a sneak preview on Friday, July 13 from 5pm to 9:30pm, offering visitors a chance to pay $5 entrance fee for first dibs on clothes, electronics, furniture, and more.

The expansion of the Rummage Sale is the latest development for the shelter under executive director Susanne Kogut, who in the two years since taking the helm, has earned the shelter "no kill" status (no adoptable animals are euthanized).

The store- which will be staffed by volunteers– will be open year round from Tuesday through Saturday, 10am to 6pm, and will take donations between 10am-1pm on those days.
