Snap o' the day: Chomped dolphin

Two members of the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission measure what's left of a shark-chomped bottle-nosed dolphin that washed up today on the beach of the Pine Island resort community on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. One of the two officials noted that she couldn't immediately say whether the shark bite evident at left-center occurred pre- or post-mortem.
