Dog bite victim filed false report
Nervous residents around Meade Park can breathe easier three days after the Daily Progress reported that a loose pit bull had attacked a woman walking on Fairway Avenue on Sunday. She was bitten, it seems, just not randomly.
"It was a false report," says Charlottesville Animal Control Officer Bobby Durrer. "It was her own dog."
According to Durrer, the woman, who reportedly suffered minor injuries and had said she would be receiving rabies shots, called him yesterday after she saw the story in the Progress to tell the truth. Durrer says there's no record that her dog, a pit bull, has ever bitten anyone else. Durrer also believes it's up-to-date on its vaccines. However, the woman, Durrer says, does have a history of allowing it to roam.
Durrer says he spent time looking for the dog up and down Fairway and Caroline avenues following the incident. Now, he says, the dog's owner could be charged with filing a false report.

What other crimes went uninvestigated while officer Durrer went searching for nothing? She will be charged for filing a false report, won't she?
This is STUPID!!!! This woman should be charged and have her dog taken away from her. This kind of nonsense only keeps the "pitbull mania" going. These DOGS are NOT EVIL, its the stupid owners who make them this way. Refer to Animal Witness tonight on Animal Planet at 7pm, this is the story about the poor abused Pits of the King SCUMBAG, Michael Vick and his crew of punks. These WERE fighting dogs that have been SAVED and given a real chance to be DOGS not weapons, and guess what that is what these dogs WANT to be!!! One of his best fighters is now a THERAPY dog!!! Ban the stupid people not the animals!!!!!
Harley Girl,
I hate to be the one to point this out to you but........ She was bitten by her own dog! Do you think it was an uncommon occurence? It happens all the time with many different breeds it's just that generally the attacks are more vicious when it involves a pit.
