Lºnasa and Vieux Farka Toure
Malian guitarist Vieux Farka Tour©, son of the late Ali, pet project of Toumani Diabat©, and a formidable musician in his own right, joins up with leading contemporary Irish band Lºnasa in a fundraiser for the Darfur relief efforts of Concern USA. It's easily one of the coolest and most exotic concerts Charlottesville has seen recently, in large part because it features leading performers from disparate parts of the world coming together. There's a moral in there somewhere, right? Go ahead and spring for the expensive tickets at this one.

Thank you Vijith Assar for covering this important event. Though the $48, $68 $88 prices may seem high we hope those who are considering not attending for this reason consider the following:
1. The audience will be getting to hear two world class bands. They won't want either band to leave the stage.
2.These talented, caring and generous musicians are coming from afar at great cost to themselves for this cause.
3. ALL proceeds are going to "Concern Worldwide" and their work in Darfur
4. This is an opportunity for Charlottesville to collectively express its genuine concern for the suffering of the people of Darfur.
From the organizers, donors and supporters of "Stand Up Charlottesville for Darfur II"

Soooo cool that Vieux Farka Toure is coming to C'ville--and to a beautiful, roomy venue. This guy's music puts me in the zone! Pricey tickets, but he's worth it. Plus they say all the money is going to a good cause, so, like, I'll be doing my good deed for the day!
