Flashback: 9/11 remembered

On this the seventh anniversary of the 9/11 terrorism attacks on the World Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon in Washington, thoughts and prayers the world over are turning to that fateful morning in 2001. Twice this time of year, the Hook has chronicled local perspectives on the tragedy– in 2002 with a cover story on locals' memories of September 11, 2001 one year later, and in 2006, commemorating the fifth anniversary with the stories of one local woman who ran for her life away from the collapsing Twin Towers, and another whose sister died when while at work for financial giant Marsh & McLennan inside Tower One.
