Restaurant liposuction for biodiesel
The greasy underbelly of the Charlottesville restaurant scene is getting sucked up by a new player, as a company called GreenerOil now sweeps in to slurp away waste fryer oil. Using spiffy new 200-gallon tanks, the company comes by local restaurants, such as Bizou, shown here, getting cleaned out by Tripper Christie last month.

you go Green Guy! Errr, oily green guy!
Let's see how long they last. Below $3 per gallon they are losing money for their efforts.
At least some exhaust will smell yummy!
Gas will go back above $3 a gallon. The reason oil is back down in the $60 range right now is twofold. 1) The world economy sucks - that is the new price for cheap gas. Once there's a recovery demand will spike back up, then guess what? 2) Despite our best attempts to wreck our own currency, foreign governments and traders are using the dollar as a refuge in these uncertain times. Go figure. That makes the USD worth more and oil (traded in dollars) cheaper.
None other than T. Boone Pickens has said oil will be back up to $100 in a year. Greasy green guy is on the right track.
T. Boone Pickens is totally wrong this time.
During our next "fuel crisis", it will back up to $4.50 to $5.00 a gallon.
Right, regarding oil I wasn't talking about prices in gallons =:-0 but barrels. Oil will probably have to get to $175/bbl or above to hit the prices you're mentioning. With the worldwide drag on the economy, I wouldn't expect it to get quite that high for at least two or three years. But it'll happen (I know, but you didn't believe oil would hit $100/bbl 3 years ago, did you?).
Gasoline prices have fallen prior to every Presidential election since the 1920's. They will be climbing again.
