Hate group to visit UVA
UVA Queer and Allied Activism is preparing for some unwelcome guests when they present The Laramie Project, a play about the death of Matthew Shepard, tomorrow night at UVA Chapel. Westboro Baptist Church, the innoccuosly named national white supremacy group that preaches hatred against gays and Muslims and has even picketed the funerals of American soldiers killed in Iraq, is planning to picket outside the show. In response, UVA's Activism group has planned a counteractive event in which attendees are asked to arrive at the Chapel tomorrow night at 6:30pm wearing black shirts "to create a human wall to show solidarity against Westboro."

The hate group would probably only attract about six people if they knew their protest would be ignored before hand. If they can get a rise out of the Queer group, it would make it worth their while for a bigger crowd to show up.
Oh, good - more right-wing nutcases. Lucky us.
