45 years today, Cassius Clay took crown
On this day in 1964, boxer Cassius Clay defeated Sonny Liston to become Heavyweight Champion of the World. Clay would later change his name to Muhammad Ali, change his religion, fight the draft, and move to the Charlottesville area. But his victory over Liston was one of the greatest upsets in sports history.
