The Frontier Culture Museum offers families the chance to visit for free with First Fridays. Folks are invited to picnic on the grounds, then wander through the museum’s four historic farms for a living history presentation. Bring your family, picnic basket, lawn chairs, and a sense of adventure. Rt. 250 west in Staunton. 540-332-7850.

According to the Frontier Museum rep who answers the phone at the museum. this event is not happening and they don't know anything about it. So, I hope this saves a few people from wasting their time and gas going to a non-event, and spares some children and adults some measure of disappointment.

According to the spokesperson from the Frontier Culture Museum with whom I just spoke, their First Fridays events do take place throughout the summer. The event for Friday July 2, however, was canceled because the Museum is hosting an all-day 4th of July event tomorrow (Saturday, July 3) with free admission for the entire day. We were assured that First Fridays will happen again in August. Our apologies for any inconvenience this might have caused. We always recommend that folks call ahead to be sure.
