McIntire falls in State title game

After a long road to the Virginia State Little League Championship game this evening, the McIntire Little All-Star team was dispatched in short order by Chantilly American, whose starting pitcher hit three two-run homers and held McIntire to one run. McIntire had its chances, loading the bases

in the first and second innings–as well as some firepower from Jack Maynard who hit a solo shot to left in the top of the fourth–but it wasn’t to be. After scoring two runs in the first, Chantilly scored five in the third and four in the fourth, moving ahead 11-1, which put an end to the game under the Little League slaughter rule. Chantilly will now represent Virginia at the regional championships in West Virginia.
