Appomattox suspect surrenders
Mass murder suspect Christopher B. Speight surrendered around 7:10am Wednesday after allegedly killing eight people Tuesday in Appomattox, the Times-Dispatch reports.

I bet his defense will be "not guilty by reason on insanity" do we as a people see what condition this world is in today, people are doing everything possible and getting away with it. We need to return to the Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Chronicles 7:14 says" if my people who are called by my name would humble themselves and pray,seek my face,turn from their wicked ways,then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Our land needs healing in the worst way, whatever happened to "In God we Trust"? Is it just for the money we print? I know that there are those who would like to take it off of that. "Appomattox County court records show a concealed weapons permit was issued to a Christopher Bryan Speight three times between 1999 and last year. The issue dates match the five-year renewal period for concealed handgun permits under Virginia law."

In the Dispatch article, they say that co-workers noticed a marked change in his behavior over the past few months, that he appeared zombie-like and paranoid. They also report that his mother died of a brain tumor a few years ago. This reminds me of the Austin, Texas tower shooter back in the '60s: During his autopsy, it was discovered that he'd had a brain tumor. I'm wondering whether Speight might also have a brain tumor.
