The week in review
Most unusual government official action: Nelson schools superintendent Roger Collins voluntarily takes a pay cut of more than $15,000 to help the school division's budget shortfall, the Nelson County Times reports. Collins' salary with benefits drops from $182,400 to $164,000.
Phrase of the week: "Shoulder surfing"– The practice of forcing job applicants to reveal personal information, such as their Facebook account information. The ACLU of Virginia requests the Virginia State Police to stop asking applicants to log on to Facebook or Twitter so the job interviewer can peruse private communications, and says such practices could be unconstitutional.
