VDOT has released the bid package for designing and building a 6.2-mile bypass around 14 stoplights. The state Tweeted the existence of the Request for Proposal documents at 6:14pm on September 27. Go online to read the details of State Project No. 0029-002-844 and submit your bid. Deadline is 4pm November 29.

The request for proposal at 2.5.1 puts the budget at $244.5 million for 6.24 miles of four lane highway. That is about $39 million per mile of road with bridges, etc..
