UVA Art Museum invites entries for "Writer's Eye 2011"
The University of Virginia invites children and adults to participate in "Writer's Eye 2011." Now in its 25th year, the competition asks participants to write a creative response to any of a number of artworks selected for the contest by the Museum. Judged categories include prose and poetry for grades three to five, grades six through eight, grades nine through 12, and university student/adult. Judges for the adult categories this year are novelist John Casey (prose) and poet Kevin McFadden (poetry). Writer's Eye self-guided and docent-led tours begin September 12.
