Mute Math

Let it be known that the Avett Brothers do have some competition tonight. These astoundingly energetic alt-rockers were off to a promising start in 2006, when an especially fascinating round of record label headaches prompted the independent release of their self-titled debut album. Now things are "back on track," if you will, with Twilight soundtrack songs, a run opening for Jared Leto's post-Linkin Park complainocore band Thirty Seconds To Mars, and a deal with Warner Brothers, who won't let us embed YouTube videos on our web site anymore. This feels weirdly overprotective since 2009's Armistice wasn't anywhere near as good, but still, if you haven't heard it already, the abstract instrumental intro track "Collapse" might just make your day.
